The Black Eyed Peas have helped raise nearly $US870,000 ($915,115) for
victims of the Chinese earthquake at a private charity concert in
Shanghai.
Members of the band donated personal items, including
a guitar, to a charity auction organised in conjunction with a private
show, French spirits maker Pernod Ricard, which organised the event,
said in a statement.
"We fell in love with China and the
Chinese people when we visited here before and so wanted to use tonight
to do all we could to help the relief effort in the aftermath of the
earthquake," band member will.i.am told the crowd.
